Colour analysis is such a fun tool, but in general I would say wear what you like and feel good in. I think it can be worth investing in a colour analysis if it's something you're interested in (but I haven't tried it myself). The thing with using a digital version is that different screens show colours differently, so my guess is that it can be hard to tell which is best. In your pics with the sweater the spring looks better, but that may very well be due to the lighting and it just pops more in the photo. Looking forward to following your journey into colour!
I agree with everyone else, I think that pink sherbet colour is gorgeous 😍 definitely think you’re leaning towards spring! I’ve also had mine done - a dark winter, clearly in the minority of getting the season I wanted!
I bet this was no small undertaking, Jenny! I think I would struggle to do this myself, as like you said, I'd just be drawn to the colours I like rather than objectively being able to analyse whether they suit me or not. I'm sure if I got a colour analysis done, it would tell me to avoid the colours I love wearing, so I'm steering clear 😂
Love this Angharad! 😆 I’m definitely calling in the cavalry on this as the chat comments have been wildly different to what I expected and to what I thought suited me! A worthy exercise x
Thanks so much Ariane! This is definitely the steer I’m getting from most people. I love it, such useful feedback! What season are you and is there a clear front runner?
I’m having an analysis in person next week so I’m excited to find out for sure. I’m pretty sure I’m a cool summer or deep winter but it’s so hard to analyze myself 😅 it’s way easier to see it on others since I’m not biased by which colors I personally love
Thanks Emily! I’m finding the comments/ advice soooo interesting. Most people are saying steer into the warmer spring tones! I feel a mega IRL shop experience coming on, to reach a conclusion. What sub-season are you? x
As others have said, I love the spring on you too! Also the light summers in your swatches look great on you. I have similar colouring to you (redhead which has become blonde/white over the years) and (from my informal online analysis) I’m a light spring. So you may want to still look at those warmer colours!
This is massively helpful Erin, thank you! It’s such a surprise and fascinating to hear almost everyone say to explore spring tones. What’s your hero colour? Maybe it’s mine too!
That’s a great question and I don’t think I’ve identified it! I actually tend to be naturally attracted to autumn colours - browns, greens especially (not so much burgundy). I found a little chart that rings somewhat true for me I think - I’ll post it and tag you. I think a hero colour is in those greens somewhere!
Thanks so much Tamara! This is just so revealing! I will definitely be ‘retaking the test’ with a focus on the warmer tones. Have you had colour analysis done? x
Thanks Sarah! This is so interesting to hear this! I did think it looked ‘not too bad’ on me for a cool girl but never in my wildest thought it might be my season 😆 Where do you sit in the seasonal array?
I’m impressed you undertook an at-home analysis!! I think I would struggle to pin-point my colors but I do agree that the difference between color seasons can make a visual impact. I love you in the sherbet color!!
Like many of your readers, I think you look amazing in the warmer pink.💕
I had medium brown hair and have green eyes. I had my colours done via “Colour Me Beautiful” in the 1970s, and my mom bought the book which I pored over and read endlessly cover to cover. I was told I was a Spring, and was severely disappointed because I really wanted to be an Autumn .
In the intervening decades, I decided that I would wear any colour that I really loved, regardless.
I currently reside in a Spring/Autumn overlap, with Winter’s primary colours and bold, vivid hues. I seldom wear pastels, as the Summer colours do nothing for me, either wearing them or in terms of appeal. I tend to change up my make up, or wear a suspect colour further away from my face.💕
I also loved the pink sherbet! But in general agree that while I love playing with complementary and unexpected color combos, I think all colors can look great on everyone, if they wear with delight! Thanks for this sharing thoughtful and intriguing post, Jenny!

Thanks Sigrid! A few people have steered me towards spring and I find this fascinating. I’ll keep you updated 😆
That pink sherbet jumper looks INCREDIBLE on you 😍
Thanks Anna! I’m so confused as I thought it was quite good on me too but that didn’t fit with my expectations 😆 Loving all the chat.

It’s so fascinating to hear this Cassie! I’m convinced it’s the lighting and not the reality 😆 but will definitely check this out x

I’d be really surprised if you weren’t a warm season! I prefer those colors on you :)

Oooooooo I LOVE the lavender sweater on you!!!! Love.

I don't know any redheads who look best in cool colors. They look fantastic in warm shades and are usually either spring or mixed spring/fall type.
Investing in a professional color type analysis saves money, time and gives you confidence when shopping.

The pink sherbet colour looks amazing on you. If I had to guess I’d say you’re a Spring !

I am an Autumn 🍂…. Muted warm colours look best on me - happy to see so much chocolate and shades of brown around too atm !
Love that you did this! I did mine last year and it’s been a huge help. I’m a “warm autumn” - tracks!!
